info@LofthouseCAG.co.uk Our Projects Campaign Against Housing - Playing Fields & Surrounding Areas Pond Improvements & Rest/Relaxation Areas with level access to the Playing Fields Summary of project: The breathing place is on a balancing pond, within the nature area of Lofthouse Colliery Park and the aims are to improve and enhance the pond to benefit the local community and improve the surroundings for wildlife. Activities are to include enlargement of the pond, add rocks and create a feature island in the middle with vegetation to be planted. Bullrushes will be removed as they diminish water supply, and appropriate reeds and other flora will be planted to provide varied habitats for wildlife. Cleaning Up The Neighbourhood (anti-social behaviour & litter) & Maintaining Our Park (path networks, seating, scrub clearance & tree planting) Pit Winding Wheel & Community Garden/Pocket Nature Park - Ridings Way/Colliery Approach Heritage Gateway - Alum Works Road/Chandlers Close - & non motorised commuter route to Outwood Train Station Nature Gateway - Lingwell Nook Lane Improved Access - Railway Terrace/Lingwell Gate Lane Improved Play Spaces We now have plans and a quotations for improving the play area within the Ridings development.
