Pond Improvements & Rest/Relaxation Areas with level access to the Playing Fields
Summary of project: The breathing place is on a balancing pond, within the nature area of Lofthouse Colliery Park and the aims are to improve and enhance the pond to benefit the local community and improve the surroundings for wildlife. Activities are to include enlargement of the pond, add rocks and create a feature island in the middle with vegetation to be planted. Bullrushes will be removed as they diminish water supply, and appropriate reeds and other flora will be planted to provide varied habitats for wildlife.
