Our Vision is focused on the need to balance informal outdoor recreation with ecology, wildlife and nature conservation for the benefit of people in the local community.

We want Lofthouse Colliery Nature Park to be a place which, in it’s entirety:
Is a Park for the local community
Meets local people’s informal recreational needs for exercise and relaxation without compromise to wildlife and nature
Offers the opportunity for peace and tranquility to promote health and well being
Provides diverse habitats for the benefit of wildlife
Is managed in a way that is sustainable and is environmentally and historically sensitive for the benefit of present and future generations
Allows educational opportunities for local children
Promotes the benefits of natural surroundings and resists the adverse effect of increasing traffic and urban development
Respects the presence of residents living on the boundaries and the surrounding area.
